BLACK TEA | Gingerbread House

Christmas is not complete without the traditional smells and tastes of Gingerbread! Dive into the warming tastes of ginger and cinnamon in this holiday favourite.

INGREDIENTS: High-altitude Ceylon black tea, ginger, cinnamon, cocoa beans, safflower petals, camomile white flowers, star anise, natural flavors (organic compliant)

CAFFEINE LEVEL:  MEDIUM     ANTI-OXIDANT LEVEL: HIGH

TEA FROM: Sri Lanka's top 3 tea-producing regions, Nuwara Eliya + Dimbula + Uva

Please note: Natural flavours used in this high-quality tea tend to be somewhat ‘soft ‘ and the flavors slightly muted. Due to the high quality of this tea, there is no need to "mask" the taste of the tea with overpowering artificial flavours (as is the case with lower quality tea). This is a desired attribute of high quality naturally flavoured teas.

  • black tea is an excellent source of anti-oxidants and polyphenols which have been suggested in research as an inhibitor of various types of cancer. 
  • a cup of tea consumed with no milk, sugar or other additives has zero calories.  

BREWING 

  • Hot tea: Put 1 teaspoon of loose tea for each 7-9 oz/200-260 ml of water in the teapot. Pour freshly boiled water over tea.
    • steep for 3-7 minutes; sweeten with milk and/or sugar to taste. Lemon/mint not recommended.
  • Cold Brew Iced Tea: To make 1L/1QT, Add 6 slightly heaping teaspoons to an infuser. Before putting infuser in pitcher, fill pitcher to the top with cold water. Add infuser into pitcher and put in refrigerator for 6-8 hrs or overnight. Infuser can be left in pitcher to release additional antioxidants as cold water brewing. Use our Mizudashi Cold Brewer or Takeya Iced Tea Brewer for best results. 
  • Flash-chilled Iced Tea: To make 1 L/1 QT, put 6 slightly heaping teaspoons of loose tea into a teapot. Pour 1¼ cups/315ml of boiling water over tea. Steep 5-10 minutes. Fill a serving pitcher full with ice. Pour strained tea over ice. Use Takeya Iced Tea Brewer for best results!
