Experience Thailand with this traditional Thai favourite, nam dok anchan. Easy to prepare, the Thai people have had a love affair with this syrupy beverage for centuries. Here's how you can make your own!

Ingredients: 12 dried butterfly pea flowers, lime juice, and sugar

Directions: 

~soak flowers in 1 cup of freshly boiled water per serving ~ let them steep for 15 minutes, then strain ~ Notice the deep blue colour of the water ~ next add a few drops of lime juice for sweetness and watch your glass turn purple~ sweeten to taste with sugar ~ pour over ice, serve with a slice of lime! Enjoy!

  • Hot tea: Put 1 slightly heaping teaspoon of herb and fruit blend for each 7-9 oz/200-260 ml of water in the teapot. Pour freshly boiled water over tea. Steep for 3-7 minutes. Milk, sugar, lemon or mint are not recommended for this blend. 
  • Flash Chilled Iced TeaTo make 1 L/1 QT, put 6 slightly heaping teaspoons of herb & fruit blend into a teapot. Pour 6-7oz/170-200ml of boiling water over tea. For best results use our Takeya Flash-Chill Iced Tea Maker
  • Cold Brew Iced Tea: To make 1L/1QT, Add 9 slightly heaping teaspoons to an infuser. Before putting infuser in pitcher, fill pitcher to the top with cold water. Add infuser into pitcher and put in refrigerator for 6-8 hrs or overnight. Infuser can be left in pitcher to release additional antioxidants as cold water brewing will not more tea bitter. Use our Mizudashi Cold Brewer or Takeya Iced Tea Brewer for best results. 
    • *some luxury quality teas may turn cloudy when poured over ice. this is a sign of a luxury quality and nothing to worry about.
